The service provides a professional, accountable, trauma-informed specialist domestic violence service that is based in the principles of intersectional feminism, social justice and reconciliation, and recognises and fosters cultural diversity.Beryl Women Inc. is committed to promoting intersectional feminist principles, beliefs, and practices to eliminate homelessness and disadvantage experienced by women and children due to domestic violence. This service has a particular commitment to reconciliation and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women in a sensitive way, both through service provision to clients and workplace practices for staff.This position provides administrative support in a participatory practice to the organisation and is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer. Tasks involve general office maintenance and IT duties (2/5), creating and managing social media content (1/5), support to the rest of the team (1/5) and assisting Chief Finance Officer as required (1/5). The position has wide ranging functions across the organisation and requires a high degree of initiative. General Office Administration Duties•Answering calls, taking minutes, mail management, filing, organisational manuals maintenance •Providing Secretarial support to the Chief Executive Officer and to team meetings as required•Providing administrative support to the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) as required.•Stationery and equipment orders, maintenance of office and office equipment, liaising with subcontractors•Assisting with events management including guest liaison, catering etc.•Managing and maintaining vehicle servicing records, registration, roadside assistance•Answering and transferring phone calls to the rest of the team•Assist Property Worker coordination of all maintenance requests through to completion as and when required•Attend properties to oversee maintenance as and when requiredIT-related duties:•Management and maintenance of IT systems in-house and with IT external services provider •Guidance to the team on the use of internal networks and software/web applicationsSocial media and website duties:•Website and social media content creation and updates in consultation with the Chief Executive OfficerFinance support duties:•Banking of cash and cheques•Sourcing of quotes and costing for projects as directed•End of month accounts support to CFO•Managing the petty cashParticipate in organisational goals through active involvement in:•Reading, understanding and adhering to all written policies and procedures.•Practical and administrative support to team members regarding reports and submissions•Participation in service development processes including policy and practice planning•Participate in regular supervision, peer support and review•Represent the organisation within the broader Community Sector where required•Participate in recruitment and induction of new staff where required•Provide additional support to team members when requested by the Chief Executive OfficerSelection Criteria Essential1.Demonstrated understanding of contemporary feminist theory and how that translates to practice support in domestic violence against women and children and homelessness2.Proven ability to implement, operate and maintain administration and financial systems in a dynamic environment3.Demonstrated ability to take initiative and prioritise workload while operating in a crisis environment.4.Ability to be responsive in decision-making where there are competing needs5.Demonstrated ability to work alone and as part of a team6.Proven ability to use Office 365 Suite (mainly Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel and Planner) and Canva7.Current Driver's License and Working with Vulnerable People Registration Card (ACT) Desirable1.Commitment to life-long learning principles2.Level of fitness for active workload
