About the Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work in Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, providing in- and out-patient Neuropsychology services to mostly older adults with cognitive deficits and dementia within the Aged Care and Rehabilitation dept., and also to younger adults on occasion.
You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team with another Neuropsychologist, in addition to physicians, nursing and allied health staff. Suitable supervision is available from the district’s senior clinicians, and other relevant professional development activities are supported.

What You'll be Doing
This position provides specialised and evidence based neuropsychological assessment of patients/consumers with a wide range of disorders/diseases with potential cognitive and/or behavioural implications, for the purpose of assisting with clinical management, determining specific competencies or facilitating discharge planning.
The patients/consumers may be adult in-patients at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, or community dwelling in Bankstown LGA. As the role is based primarily in Dept of Aged Care and Rehabilitation at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital, most referrals will be for older adults with cognitive deficits and dementia, but referrals may also come from other clinicians, such as Neurology Dept., for younger adults.
The role also participates in the evaluation of clinical outcomes of services and assists in the development and provision of education and training programs. Additionally, the role supervises Psychologists and other disciplines working within the LHD according to organizational needs.

1. Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council accredited postgraduate Clinical Neuropsychology qualification of no less than two years full time duration or recognised equivalent.
2. Demonstrated knowledge of psychological issues that can arise with inpatients and/or outpatients (including community consumers as per service), presenting for neuropsychological assessment and where necessary, appropriate onward referral for management.
3. Demonstrated knowledge of the quality improvement process for service development, implementation and evaluation
4. Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team with a high level of autonomy, self-motivation, and organisational and time management skills.
5. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and computer literacy.
6. Supervision experience of interns completing post qualification studies in Clinical Neuropsychology if appropriate to level of experience.
7. Demonstrated experience providing comprehensive evidence based clinical neuropsychological services to a wide range of inpatients and/or outpatients (including community consumers as per service).
