Reporting to the Risk & Audit Manager our client is seeking an enthusiastic legal practitioner to progress their career inhouse at the early development stage of compliance.
This is a great opportunity to pivot more into a corporate compliance opportunity and to mature the function in the organisation.The role will lead the design, implementation and management of the company's compliance operating model.
This will involve engaging, influencing and driving compliance obligations across the business through collaboration, provision of advice and support in accordance with the Compliance Management Policy and Framework.
The role also encompasses some privacy, FOI, statutory obligations with the support of external law firms.
You will be responsible for engagement with senior stakeholders, presentations to the board, preparing the papers and presenting to the executive team.
Suitable candidates must have a tertiary qualification in Law and a current practising certificate.
You will have relevant commercial and professional experience specialising in legal, compliance, risk or assurance work with experience in professional services or complex organisation or a large corporation.
Experience interpreting and applying complex policy and legislation and working knowledge of law, compliance, risk, governance, and/or assurance methodology and is required.
Importantly, you will have the ability to work collaboratively with the Executive and senior leaders in developing compliance frameworks and facilitating engagement of external regulators and authorities, and be confident presenting to a wide range of audiences.
