Woodleigh is currently seeking applications for a part time Primary Specialist Teacher Visual Art to be based at our Minimbah Junior campus in Frankston South. This is a Fixed Term part time position with an FTE of approximately 0.54 covering a staff member on parental leave. The Primary Specialist Teacher Visual Arts is responsible for the development and delivery of an engaging and innovative, inquiry-centred Visual Arts program for students at the campus. They will be responsible for the planning, implementation, and review of the Visual Arts curriculum. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Designing and implementing learning and teaching programs using knowledge of curriculum, assessment and reporting requirements Teaching knowledge and skills in art, including drawing, painting, lettering, and art history Providing individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of all students and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities Instructing students in proper care and use of tools and equipment Evaluating each student's performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports Undertaking teaching from 4 Year Old Kindergarten - Year 6. Experience and Skills Must be able to demonstrate: Experience as a primary school art teacher An understanding of appropriate behaviours when engaging with children Relevant classroom teaching experience or experience working with children Experience in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme would be desirable Conditions of Employment A VIT Registration is required for this position Qualification and First Aid/Anaphylaxis is required for this position Further information about Woodleigh can be found here.
