Position Summary We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our luxury hotel team, based in the newly constructed and architecturally designed Capella Sydney. Reporting directly to the Director of Sales, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our business.
As a Business Development Manager, you will lead and manage group accounts with a strong focus on MICE sales activities, across various accounts and markets. You will be the main point of contact for clients, actively driving business generation and ensuring alignment with the hotel's sales strategies. Your efforts will directly contribute to maximizing revenue, while achieving both personal and hotel-wide goals.
The Role Provide inspirational leadership with a clear vision and direction to team members to ensure delivery of the Capella brand values and vision, to create an amazing experience for all guests and colleagues.Proactively prospect new business, identify untapped opportunities, and continuously assess areas for growth and improvement to drive the hotel's success and expand our market reach.Provide a proactive approach to sales, develop sales action plans to target groups and MICE business.Assist in achieving the annual operating budget to meet and exceed budget expectations. Ensure successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment for the property owner and the hotel.Build and nurture relationships with key accounts while actively seeking out new opportunities to expand our network. You will ensure maximum exposure for the hotel, positioning us to bid on new accounts and secure impactful business relationships.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external partners, ensuring ongoing collaboration. Stay informed about market trends and competitor activity to keep the hotel ahead of the curve and strategically positioned in the marketplace.Willingness to travel for conventions, industry events, and client meetings to foster relationships, stay updated on industry trends, and explore new business opportunities. Talent Profile Tertiary Education in Hotel Management/Business or related.Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role at luxury hotels/resort.Strong understanding of the luxury hospitality market, competition, and current trends.Self-motivated, results-driven, and proactive in identifying and pursuing opportunities.Strong networking abilities and an established industry network would be highly advantageous.Highly organized and with excellent people and negotiating skills.Excellent selling skills and understanding of sales processes.Excellent personal presentation and grooming.Excellent command of written and spoken English.Existing valid working rights in Australia.*Kindly be informed that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
