Position Summary:
We are seeking an NDT Technician to join our dynamic Operations team. This full-time role is essential for maintaining and servicing our inventory of mooring components.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform detailed magnetic particle inspection of mooring equipment in compliance with industry standards and internal procedures
* Perform visual inspection of mooring equipment
* Accurately and diligently compile reports on the condition and serviceability of mooring equipment
* Perform calibration of equipment
* Maintain accurate records of NDT equipment for calibration and reporting requirements
* Conduct repairs to mooring equipment in compliance with industry standards and manufacturer requirements
* Comply with regulatory and customer requirements
* Assist in the certification renewal process of mooring equipment in accordance with DNV and ABS standards
* Cleaning and maintaining equipment as instructed by the Base Manager or delegate
* Meet deadlines associated with equipment mobilisation
* Updating and maintaining the asset management system, where required
* Support the Base Manager with yard activities, including equipment maintenance, mobilization and demobilization
* Participate in operations offshore as required
* Ensure procedures and best work practices are being followed throughout the inspection, installation and maintenance process
* Ensuring high standards of housekeeping are maintained at all Delmar worksites
* Identify hazards and assess the risks associated with tasks relevant to the role and mitigate those risks to ALARP
* Implement the Stop Work Authority for situations where an activity is considered unsafe
* Contribute to building a culture of continuous improvement of safety and quality
Qualifications and Skills:
* AINDT, PCN or equivalent ISO 9712 Level 2 certification in magnetic particle testing
* Minimum of 2 years’ experience performing magnetic particle inspection preferred
* Knowledge of industry standards such as API RP 2I and DNV-RU-OU-0300 preferred
* NDT experience in industrial background; marine oil and gas industry preferred
* Strong understanding of schematic diagrams and assembly drawings
* Ability to understand technical manuals
* General computer and office suite skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
* Experience with safe handling and operation of power tools
* Forklift Experience and Qualification preferred
* Familiarity with offshore safety guidelines, DNV-GL, and ABS certification processes preferred
* Self-motivated with robust organizational and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication skills, capable of conveying complex information clearly and concisely.
* Willingness to travel and work in offshore environments.
Location:
This position is based in Australia, with options for Karratha-based employment or a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) arrangement (3 weeks on, 3 weeks off). Opportunities for national and international travel are available.
Training and Reporting:
The NDT Technician will report directly to the Base Manager / Inspection Supervisor. Comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided, ensuring all team members are fully equipped with the knowledge and skills to excel in their roles.
Must have full working rights in Australia, Permanent Residency or Australian citizenship to be considered for this role.
