Full time, continuing position as Senior Finance Manager in the Central Services Team Opportunity to utilise your experience supporting business partnering teams Base salary from $140,913 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Senior Finance Manager – Central Services will provide high level strategic and insightful commercial advice and decision support, performance analysis and management reporting, and acts as the technical lead for the entire Central Services Corporate Finance portfolio. This role provides a cohesive and comprehensive local interface for all portfolio financial management requirements, accounting, and reporting matters, with delivery achieved though working efficiently and collaboratively with the broader Financial Services areas which indirectly service the unit. As an integral part of the senior management team of the portfolio, the role is expected to contribute to continuous improvement and new initiatives within both the assigned portfolio, and wider Financial Services, including process improvement and change management support for financial process improvements. Your key responsibilities will be to: provide day-to-day relationship management and business partnering as the portfolio’s lead point of contact for the Financial Services team partner with directors of the Professional Services Units and the Offices of the Deputy Vice Chancellor to review, interpret and delivery financial plans aligned to strategy actively uphold best practice financial performance management methodology, ensuring governance, compliance, and operational efficiencies are achieved seek continuous improvement, uplift of meaning insights and business value to your partnered stakeholder group, maintaining effective working relationships with key networks provide mentoring, coaching and contribution of professional development for Financial Services staff, as well as broader commercial acumen for business partners undertake any other duties appropriate to the role classification as required by the Associate Director of Research Finance and of senior management. About you bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance / Management / relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience part qualified or membership of CPA Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia or equivalent demonstrated ability to interpret, apply and integrate complex financial policies and procedures, external requirements and accounting standards demonstrated ability to provide operational financial insights, sound financial management, decision support, advice, analysis and support to client group/faculty and finance team highly developed communication and interpersonal skills to exercise initiative, tact, discretion, and good judgement in supporting stakeholders making good financial business decisions able proficiency to navigate across a complex (matrix reporting) enterprise environments strong relationship management skills across all levels of the organisation, inspiring confidence and trust excellent Microsoft Office skills particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint; with the ability to adapt and utilise complex Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis, budget and forecast preparation and analysis, KPI reporting, ad-hoc analysis etc. Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
