There will be opportunities to pick up extra shifts on weekends and to cover leave so flexibility is essential.You'll be working with a team of highly skilled and passionate veterinary professionals under the banner of one of the most respected brands in animal welfare. If you are passionate about making a direct impact on animal welfare, we'd love to talk to you.Why You'll Love It HereKey ResponsibilitiesConsult Support: Support veterinarians with routine examinations and consultations.Organisation Pro: Prepare and implement surgery schedules.Client Support: Provide veterinary nursing care and grief support to clients.Nursing Support: Assist in radiography, surgical procedures, monitor patient anesthesia and post-operative procedures. In-house and external pathology procedures. Prepare medications as required.Inpatient Care: Nurse hospitalised animals, monitor clinical signs, and communicate with owners.Community Advocate: Demonstrate knowledge, understanding, and empathy for community animal health and welfare issues.What are the minimum requirements for this position?Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or recognised equivalent.Minimum of 1+ years' vet nursing experience.Experience in a busy, fast-paced work environment.Desired previous experience in a shelter/rescue environment.To be successful in this role, you will have:Strong Interpersonal and Communication Skills.Ability to manage your own time effectively and be respectful of the time of others.Strong attention to detail within deadlines.Versatility, flexibility, and positivity.Who are we?Founded in 1959, AWLQ has become a trusted leader in animal welfare.
