Central Queensland Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS) is a multidisciplinary service providing specialist support for mental health, substance, and alcohol related care multilocality throughout Central Queensland.
Rockhampton Being the principal service centre provides administration of the Mental Health Act, 2016, the Acute Adult Inpatient Facilities, and an Adult Community Care Unit.
The Service aims to reduce the harm from alcohol and other drug use as well as improve the health and wellbeing of our clients, their families, and the community.
Our main office is in Rockhampton, with outreach services located in other areas including Yeppoon, Emerald, Blackwater and Biloela.
About the role: The Psychologist - Specialist Services Team engages clients in with specialist skills in evidence-based therapeutic and reduction intervention techniques.
Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of Alcohol and Other Drugs clinical services and client care.
Deliver culturally safe best practice Alcohol and Other Drugs clinical services to clients with substance use issues and their families, including intake, biopsychosocial assessment, care planning, therapy interventions, case management, consultation, health promotion, needle and syringe program, early identification/intervention, liaison and education.
Actively participate in the provision of clinical education and peer supervision programs.
About you: Mandatory qualification/s: Applicants must possess an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council (APAC) accredited four-year qualification in psychology and general or provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA).
Upcoming graduates awaiting conferral of qualifications and registration will be considered for this role.
Demonstrated level of knowledge, expertise, and skill in psychology clinical service provision relevant to the services delivered by the work unit.
Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to provide a quality psychology service through participation in professional development and evidenced based practice within a professional governance framework.
Demonstrated ability or ability to rapidly acquire the skill to participate in a multidisciplinary team and to communicate effectively with patients, families and their caregivers and relevant other stakeholders.
What we offer: Salary information: Total remuneration value of up to $132,567 p.a.
is comprised of: An hourly rate between $43.68 - $58.59 p.h.
