College Row School is seeking enthusiastic and passionate Deputy Principals to join our friendly leadership team.
College Row School a special needs school located in Bunbury and catering for students from Kindergarten to Year 12 with severe and complex needs. The successful applicant will work collaboratively with the Principal and School Leadership Team to drive a culture of continuous school improvement. They should possess strong leadership skills, effective positive behaviour support skills, strong organisational management and have effective communication skills and high emotional intelligence, with an ability to develop constructive, respectful, and positive relationships with staff, students, parents, and the wider community.
The successful applicant will ideally display extensive knowledge of education support approaches to curriculum improvement, data analysis, and the ability to successfully assist staff with identifying targeted intervention strategies to improve student learning, which are key components of this role. The successful applicant will lead whole school curriculum support, Positive Behaviour Support and practices and Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) practices. The school offers a number of specialist programs/practices to enhance student learning including ASDAN, Positive Behaviour Support, AAC Communication including RoCC (Roadmap of Communication Competence) Hydro Therapy, Bush Ranger Cadets, Community Access.
The deputy principal leads staff to provide support for students with disabilities; and work with key school stakeholders including School Psychologists to improve well-being, learning and academic progress of students. You will also support enrolment processes and manage student transitions.
The successful applicant will promote positive relationships with parents, and external agencies and services to benefit academic, social and emotional development of students. The role of family in the development of each child is recognised and integral in our school. To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements:
1. Capacity to provide effective leadership in a diverse range of educational settings;
2. High level of interpersonal and public relations skills that demonstrate the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships to achieve planned outcomes;
3. Professional knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to ensure a high level of educational outcomes for all students ( Aboriginal students, students from diverse ethnic backgrounds and students with special needs).
4. Capacity to manage staff, physical and financial resources.

10. obtain a current Department of Education Criminal Record Clearance prior to commencement of employment;
11. obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
12. complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
13. complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement;
14. complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy; and
15. complete the Department’s training in Accountability and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment.
The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
