The service provides beds across three campuses (Sale, Maffra and Heyfield).
Acute services include a full-time emergency department, critical care unit, neonatal critical care unit, three operating theatres, day procedure unit, oncology and dialysis services in addition to general medical services and sub-acute services including rehabilitation.CGH is also a leading teaching hospital, affiliated with Monash University's School of Rural Health and provides placements and clinical experience for students.About DepartmentCommunity and Allied Health Services provide a broad range of services including allied health, dental, nursing, palliative care, home support, health promotion, assessment and support services.About the RoleThis position will enable CGH to deliver Occupational Therapy service within the CGH network, based on an efficient, goal-oriented and person-centred care coordination system.
The position is responsible for the leadership of the Occupational Therapy team, enabling staff within the team to deliver clinically relevant and informed rehabilitation assessment, management, advocacy and monitoring to clients within the CGH network, including community services and aged care and external agencies as contracted.Duties include but are not limited to:Developing and leading a team of occupational therapist professionals in line with the CGH Strategic Leadership and Talent Development Framework.Supporting CGH to develop innovative strategies in the utilisation of the Allied Health Assistant (AHA) workforce.Actively participating in the coordination, planning and evaluation of quality projects within the service.Developing a business plan for the service designed to support CGH service delivery capability and agreed priorities in the CGH Health Plan.Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceDegree qualification (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy.Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.Qualifications and/or experience in business/health management, or working towards the same.Proven and significant clinical experience working as an Occupational Therapist.Experience working as a manager in a health and/or community services setting.An understanding of the hospital, community and residential aged care service settings.ApplicationPlease attach your resume and cover letter to your application addressing qualifications, experience and Leadership Capability.All appointments are made subject to the candidate providing a current satisfactory National Police Certificate and obtaining a Working with Children Check.At CGH we acknowledge the importance of creating a work environment that is welcoming, safe, equitable and inclusive.
