THE ROLE & THE TEAM
We’re recruiting for a Legal Secretary join our Health team.
Our Health, Abuse and Insurance team represent health providers and facilities in NSW, offering legal advice on a broad range of matters, from straightforward to highly contentious, including nervous shock claims, breaches of consumer laws, and actions against healthcare practitioners, as well as historical abuse claims in an institutional setting.
Our clients include public and private hospitals, medical practitioners, allied healthcare professionals, health services and health and aged care facilities.

WHAT YOU BRING
The ideal candidate will have experience:
* Drafting legal documents, court documents and correspondence
* Filing court documents online in various jurisdictions
* Organising and maintaining digital files, data entry and maintenance of Affinity database
* Preparing briefs for Counsel and Medical Experts, including indexing, collating and tabulating documents, and updating briefs during the course of matters.
* Effectively managing and maintaining multiple calendars, monitoring court and client timeframes and providing reminders as necessary
* Arranging meetings, appointments and coordinate travel arrangements
* Monitoring due dates for reports from experts and follow-up outstanding reports/documents
* Monitoring return dates for subpoenas and arrange for produced documents to be copied and follow up outstanding subpoenas
* Billing including preparation and review of draft bills
In this role, you may be exposed to sensitive and delicate content. Mental and emotional agility will be essential in being successful in this position. You will be provided with Vicarious Trauma training, tools and resources to support your development in this area.
