About the Departmentfor Correctional Services
The Department employsapproximately 2,000 staff and has responsibility for nine prisonsand sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Ourvision is for a safer community by protecting the public andreducing re-offending. We work towards this through thecontribution of staff who are employed in a wide variety of fields,from correctional officers and teachers, to social workers,psychologists and supervisors of court orders. Duties
The AboriginalRehabilitation Clinician is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor,Rehabilitation Programs Branch (RPB), specifically within theFamily Violence and General Offending Team. The AboriginalRehabilitation Clinician will provide high quality domestic andfamily violence intervention to Aboriginal adult offendersand prisoners placed in custody,on probation, supervised bail, parole, pre-parole, home detentionor Community Service Orders. The position will also provide a highquality service to the Courts, Parole Board, Case Managers,Sentence Management Unit, Custodial staff and to the community ingeneral, in order to assist Aboriginal offenders to adopt anon-offending lifestyle.
SpecialConditions
•Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunctionwith other provisions of the act and other applicableindustrial entitlements.
• Theincumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a NationalCriminal History Check;
• A currentSouth Australian Driver's Licence is essential;
• Aflexible approach to working hours is required;
• Someinterstate and intrastate travel will be required which maynecessitate overnight absences.
Requirements
Essential:
PO2 - Appropriate degree level tertiary qualifications in communityservices, Aboriginal culture (e.g.anthropology), sociology,criminology, justice, correctional practice, social sciences, humanservices, health, or related field.
AHP2- Appropriatedegree orequivalent qualification which gives eligibility for fullmembership ot the Australian Association of SocialWorkers.
