Ideally a Chartered engineerDemonstrable international and site experience, predominantly in large scale (c.£100m+) infrastructure projects, for a range of Clients in various construction market sectorsCapable “hands-on” geotechnical designer. Detailed design experience including deep and shallow foundations (vertical and lateral capacity, settlement), deep excavations, basements, retaining structures, earthworks, soil and rock slope engineering, ground improvement, seismicity and liquefaction and instrumentation and monitoringStrong knowledge of geotechnical and engineering geological processes and design, with a particular emphasis on data interpretation, design & analysis, construction and advanced numerical modellingGround investigation experience including design, preparation of tender documents, supervision, interpretationGeomorphologic, coastal and maritime experience would be beneficialExtensive knowledge of Eurocodes and other relevant national and international industry standards, contracts, methodologies and proceduresExperience at Assignment Manager and Designer level with a proven record of managing and delivering assignments to programme and budgetUnderstanding of the standard basic engineering work planning, scheduling and cost estimatingAbility to build, maintain and develop relationships with key clientsPeople management experience e.g. general employee welfare, carrying out appraisals, training and development, involvement in resourcing and recruitment activitiesIT SKILLS:Competent user of 2D and 3D finite element analysis software (e.g. PLAXIS, Z-soil)Proficient in other geotechnical software (Repute, Settle, WALLAP, LPile, GPile, DPile, Slide, gINT, or equivalent)Excellent Microsoft Office Abilities (particularly Excel, C+++)2-D and 3-D computer aided design and computer aided engineering (CAD and CAE) toolsCOMPETENCIES:Technical: Strong skills and knowledge, undertakes tasks in a cogent manner involving the wider team as neededCommunication: Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate, listen and influence all levels of people effectively.
