The Role Reporting to and working closely with the Chief Risk Officer, the Head of Risk and Quality will play a key role in helping to mature the existing risk framework and ensure the uplift and transformation to meet industry best standards. The role is also responsible for overseeing the company's internal audit program and for ensuring the business complies with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Responsibilities are including but not limited to:
Implementing the organisation's risk management framework and ensuring forward looking risk management practices and continuous improvement.Enhancing the risk culture and identifying opportunities to increase risk awareness and maturity.Identifying, anticipating, and preventing all of the critical clinical, corporate, operational and safety risks that may potentially harm the organisation and developing strategies, processes and systems for monitoring and managing those risks and ensuring business continuity.Reviewing and analysing risk trends and the companies risk profile given consideration to the organisations risk appetite.Guiding the organisation in maintaining laboratory accreditation status with NATA and ISO standards.Overseeing and implementing the Quality Management Framework including but not limited to incident investigation (RCA), complaints handling and resolution and claims management and driving continuous improvement.Continue to operationalise the Risk Appetite Framework by establishing protocols for monitoring risk appetite statements and thresholds and ensuring consistent application across the business.Overseeing the company's internal audit program including liaison with and management of external audit partners.Support the Chief Risk Officer, National Executive Team, State Quality Managers, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to meet all risk, quality and audit management responsibilities and obligations.Business partnering to ensure effective communication of risk, quality and audit requirements.Presenting to the Audit and Risk Committee and/or the Board as and when required.This candidate will need to be an engaging individual, able to build relationships across the business and act as a true risk advisor and business partner.
Your Profile This is a hands-on role requiring the successful candidate to be comfortable with not only providing strategic oversight but also be involved from an operational level as well. You will need a strong practical understanding of leading risk, audit and quality management practices and have experience in using and implementing risk and quality management systems.
You will be a seasoned risk and/or quality management professional who is a proactive self-starter with a background in healthcare and/or corporate risk management. You will need to anticipate the risk and quality requirements of the business based upon future developments in the pipeline, both from a corporate and clinical perspective.
Ideally from an ASX listed company or major healthcare provider you will have a strong understanding of all facets of risk management including operational, strategic and sustainability risks across all aspects of the business.
This role is Melbourne based, but for the right individual we would consider someone based in any of the major cities located around Australia.
