Distribution Supervisor Location: Tamworth, NSW THE OPPORTUNITY Lead and manage a team of Operators Planning & supervising Operational Works (Direct Control and/or Contract) Engineering infrastructure construction & maintenance Operating and maintaining water industry services COULD THIS BE YOU? Council are looking for an experienced individual who has the ability to communicate effectively with all stakeholders as well as lead, direct and develop an operational team.
Ideally, you will have completed a Certificate III in Water Operations, Civil Construction or equivalent, but we will consider applicants that have been working as a supervisor in a related construction or maintenance field.
The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for: Supervision, co-ordination and leadership in a construction environment Occupational Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental Protection in a construction environment Engineering infrastructure construction & maintenance, such as excavation, pipe laying, and concrete placing/finishing Operating and maintaining water industry services, including construction and maintenance of mains, manholes, fittings and services Planning and supervising Operational Works (Direct Control and/or Contract). The operation of various plant items including backhoe, crane, excavator, mini excavators and skid steer loader. Computer skills; particularly spreadsheets and communication (internet and email). Negotiate with staff, contractors and members of the public Work with no daily supervision using initiative, judgement and drive Provide cost estimates and time frames, written reports and complete Standard Forms. Accepting changing work goals, priorities and progress and actively participate in the change process. TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED Certificate III, in Local Government Operational Works, Civil Construction, Plant or other related discipline relevant to the position. Current Class MR Driver's Licence. Backhoe Plant Operators Certificate. Salary range: Grade 11 - $1,310.30 - $1,417.90 per week plus 10% Market Allowance & 11.5% superannuation for a 38 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.
Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.
