Motors & Generators Engineer (Relocation to Saudi Arabia)
This is a full-time expatriate, residential position based in Saudi Arabia
Overview
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Motors and Generators Engineer to join the Consulting Services Department (CSD), Electrical Engineering Division (EED). The incumbent provides technical support in the development of new processes, equipment or techniques, facility designs, and solutions to unusual operating and maintenance problems.
The incumbent's major functions include initiating or conducting special studies for improving facilities or operations, providing specialized technical service in recognized engineering fields, and acting as a consultant on complex engineering issues and designs related to rotating electrical machines. The role also includes identifying pertinent new technologies to enhance company profitability and productivity and maintaining cost-effective design solutions within Saudi Aramco engineering standards and design best practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Provide general engineering consultations in the area of Motors & Generators to Saudi Aramco field operations such as refineries, gas plants, and terminals on an as-needed basis.
* Write company procedures and best practices in the area of expertise. Serve on international standards writing bodies as opportunities allow.
* Provide consultation and reviews for capital project developments, reviewing engineering design packages. Attend project review meetings in or out of the Kingdom, as needed.
* Introduce new technology that would boost company profitability and productivity.
* Represent Saudi Aramco in dealings with vendors, manufacturers, and / or design firms where expert engineering advice in his expertise is required.
* Conduct peer reviews of technical reports and review the work of third-party project designs, technology reports, and engineering standards.
* Share knowledge and experience with, as well as mentor, junior and developing engineers within the company.
Requirements
* BS in electrical engineering. MS or other advanced professional engineering degree is highly desirable. Professional Engineer (PE) license or registration is highly desirable.
* At least ten (10) years of professional experience, including years as an engineer responsible for technical work in his field of specialty, which includes experience in sizing, construction, commissioning, and troubleshooting of high voltage electrical machines, in addition to factory acceptance testing.
* Must have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills and be willing to transfer implicit knowledge and teach courses to specialists and engineers in his field, with flexibility to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
