About the Opportunity We are seeking a full-time, highly independent Carpenter to work on essential housing renovations and upgrades across remote homelands in the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in scoping, coordinating, completing, and documenting carpentry projects.
Key Responsibilities: Performing repairs and installation of doors, windows, verandas, cabinets, and other fixtures Responding to housing maintenance requests from Ingkerreke Housing Officers Ensuring compliance with Australian building standards and WHS regulations Keeping organised records and photos of completed work Operating tools, machinery, and equipment as required Potential to mentor an apprentice in the future, depending on experience and organisational needs. This role requires significant travel across remote homelands, with a company vehicle, travel allowances, and a swag allowance provided to support on-site work.

About You To qualify, you will need a Certificate III in Carpentry (or equivalent) and a valid Manual Driver's License. You will have proven experience in housing construction, repairs, and maintenance. Additionally, you must hold or be willing to obtain the following:
Construction Industry White Card Working at Heights Certificate NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
HR License or willingness to obtain Experience working in remote or Indigenous communities Project management skills or an interest in developing them Experience mentoring apprentices or leading small teams Knowledge of Northern Territory building codes and regulations As our ideal candidate, you are self-motivated, adaptable, and resilient, able to work independently and problem-solve in remote settings. You excel in communication and collaboration, with a deep cultural awareness and respect for Aboriginal communities. Comfortable with physically demanding work, you thrive in challenging environments, including outdoor and remote-site conditions.
