Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy)Full timeNyrstar is a global multi-metals business, with a market leading position in zinc and lead and growing positions in other base and precious metals.Nyrstar has mining, smelting and other operations located in Europe, the Americas and Australia and employs over 4,000 people.The company's global operations are located close to key customers and major transport hubs to facilitate delivery of raw materials and distribution of finished products.In August 2019, Nyrstar's operating business became majority owned by Trafigura, a market leader in the global commodities industry, providing a stable long-term platform for its marketing leading operations worldwide.Overview of the roleAre you passionate about workplace safety and looking for a challenging role where you can make a difference?Join our team at Nyrstar Port Pirie as an Environmental Technician.We are seeking a dedicated individual to maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot operational issues for environmental monitoring equipment required for compliance and non-compliance monitoring including SO2 monitors, communication links, high volume Analysers and Real Time Lead in Air Analysers.This role is residentially based in Port Pirie, South Australia, operating on a Monday-Friday roster.Ideally the successful candidate will already be residentially based or willing to relocate to Port Pirie.Relocation assistance will be provided if required.Essential FunctionsEnsure that a proactive approach is taken to identify and eliminate any health, safety or environmental hazards and potential incidents.Manage own and others work in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.Investigate and report on all accidents and incidents.Install new monitoring equipment.May aid with data analysis, trending and presentation including spatial data.Set up and follow calibration schedules for monitoring equipment and instrumentation.Maintain the real time water analysers.Troubleshoot and resolve issues with equipment function and telemetry in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.Conduct daily HiVol filter change outs, update LIA data collected daily, send out emails and enter RIMS for exceedances triggered.Qualifications, Skills & Experiences:Qualified Instrumentation Technician or equivalent an advantage.Electrical qualification an advantage.Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Suite (Knowledge of RIMS and SAP advantageous).Excellent interpersonal and customer-focused skills.Strong time management and priority-setting abilities.ApplicationsClick Apply to submit your application including a cover letter, resume.Please note you must have unrestricted valid rights to work in Australia.Nyrstar is an equal opportunity employer and supports diversity within its workforce.Nyrstar Port Pirie's Safety Policy requires clean shaven employees and is a non-smoking site.Only applicants who progress to the next stage will be contacted.Thank you for your interest in applying for a position at Nyrstar.#J-18808-Ljbffr
