Job Description for Administrative Support Role
About the Role
The Supreme Court of Tasmania is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to provide administrative support to the functioning of court proceedings in the Southern Region.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake administrative work for judges in chambers, including locating reference materials, maintaining lists of authorities, and organizing travel and equipment.
* Act as the interface between the judge and jury, conducting inductions and managing interactions during trials.
* Assist with court proceedings by preparing rooms, swearing in witnesses, and data entry.
* Monitor behavior in court to ensure compliance with statutory requirements and protocols.
* Manage court files and exhibits, and provide training to less experienced staff on court procedures and ICT protocols.
