What you'll do
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team delivering horticulture activities based in Cranbourne Gardens, home to one of Victoria's most precious areas of remnant native bushland and a site of State significance for flora and fauna conservation.
Working as part of a successful team, you will provide technical support including garden maintenance, living plant collections curation, turf care, plant records, plant health, biosecurity, and irrigation practices. You will support landscape development projects, initiating and prioritising tasks in consultation with Team Leader to achieve continual improvements across the Gardens, and contribute to the achievement of branch objectives.
What you'll bring
The successful candidate will hold a trade certificate or other relevant qualification, alongside a passion for plants and experience in Horticulture.
You have demonstrated experience working in a large complex garden, with a strong history or horticultural practices, plant identification and curation. You are well versed in optimising plant-performance and understand the weed and pest identification and management practices. In addition, you have excellent attention to detail, and can record and monitor data and records, including maps and plant performance.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills mean you can work well within a team and deliver excellent customer service to site visitors.
