About us Ngamai Wilam is a newly built 12-bed residential eating disorder treatment facility in Armadale, set to open in May 2025 .
Jointly funded by the Australian Federal Government and the Victorian Government, this specialist statewide service will be managed by Alfred Health .
The service will provide 24/7 trauma-informed, recovery-focused care for adults aged 18 and over, in a gender-inclusive, home-like therapeutic environment .
With a strong focus on family and chosen supports, Ngamai Wilam is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care that promotes long-term recovery .
About the role As the Eating Disorders Educator, you will have: a commitment to person-centred, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approaches to care.
proven experience in supporting individuals with mental health conditions in a collaborative and strengths-based manner.
demonstrated ability to provide mental health assessment and co-develop care plans that align with participants' personal goals and aspirations.
sound knowledge of the Victorian Mental Health & Wellbeing Act (2022) and other relevant legislation, ensuring participant rights are upheld.
well-developed interpersonal skills to effectively engage, consult, and collaborate with participants, their families, chosen supports, and other professionals.
proven experience in fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, providing leadership that supports both staff development and high-quality participant care.
About You Registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse or Occupational Therapist, or eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (for Social Workers) or eligibility for DAA membership - Current Accredited Practising Dietitian Status or willingness to regain APD status (at own expenses) Eligibility to be a Certified Accredited Practising Dietitian For Lived Experience professionals, demonstrated expertise in using personal experience of mental health challenges and recovery to inform service development, education, and workforce support.
Postgraduate qualifications in mental health, education, or a related field (highly regarded).
Relevant professional experience in mental health, eating disorders, or related settings.
Experience in providing education, mentoring, or workforce development in a clinical or lived experience capacity (highly regarded).
Australian working rights.
Current Victorian Driver License, Working with Children Check, and Background Check.
