Add expected salary to your profile for insights.Pyrenees Hay Australia are currently offering a terrific opportunity for an Agronomist or experienced Hay/fodder buyer to join our team.PHA is a leading Australian Hay exporter & Agribusiness – specialising in the processing and exporting of Hay (also straw, grains and pulses).This is an ideal role for an experienced person looking to grow their career within the Broadacre Hay Forage business.Reporting to the Export/Commercial Manager, the focus of this exciting role will be to create a strong relationship between PHA and growers in order to contract and purchase Oaten Hay for receival into the packing site in Avoca Victoria.Position Responsibilities:Liaison with growers/potential growersAssisting in the development of the PHA BusinessAdvise growers of requirements for Export quality oaten hayPaddock inspections throughout the yearPromote and facilitate oaten hay contracts to dependable farmersCollecting and preparing samples for testing, and ensuring retained samples are held in PHA office, stored and labelled correctlyMaintain accurate records of hay tested and contracted (spreadsheets)Grading of oaten hay (evaluation of quality)Inspecting hay on delivery to PHA Avoca site to ensure it matches the grade on purchase contractHosting Grower days & discussions to promote the growing of oaten hay for exportPerformance Measures:Proven experience in Agronomy or Fodder procurementGood keyboard and computer skills (spreadsheets and databases)Excellent written and verbal communicationSelf-managed, with a proven record of quality time managementOther Information:The Agronomist/Hay procurement officer will become the “go to” person on issues relating to oaten hay quality.
