In your new role as Transmission Lines Technician (Linesman / Linesperson), you will develop, maintain and provide practical and technical expertise in transmission line work including inspection, maintenance, repairs and construction of transmission line assets within Transgrid's transmission network and to deliver all elements of these tasks as required to meet customer expectations. You will ensure all work is carried out in alignment with Transgrid's policies and procedures. You will at times perform the duties of a Crew Leader for work and be the single point of contact between the appropriate Field Coordinator/Site Manager and the team and will provide them with relevant and appropriate information. You will also develop the leadership capabilities to safely and effectively carry out work and will assist in the development and mentoring of apprentices and junior Transmission Lines Technicians and provide performance feedback to assist in development and performance management. About you Certificate III in ESI - Power Systems – Transmission and or Distribution Overhead Transmission and or Distribution line trade experience A current Australian Driver's License Good oral and written presentation skills Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment Prepared to work away from their nominated headquarters for periods of time Ability to interpret schematics Allocation to a standby roster to provide afterhours standby services and respond to system incidents Willing to engage in external work opportunities on non-Transgrid assets and locations Knowledge and understanding of all relevant legislation, regulations, Transgrid policies, rules and procedures Understanding of the inspection, maintenance and construction requirements associated with Transgrid's transmission line infrastructure Recognition & Reward In return for your hard work, we have numerous benefits and initiatives to support you personally and professionally including but not limited to private health insurance discount, motor vehicle lease plan, career development support, study assistance program and workplace flexibility.
