The Australian College of Applied Professions (ACAP) is Australia's leading independent provider of tertiary education, delivering accredited courses in psychology, counselling, coaching, criminology, social work and business management and leadership (MBA).
We are currently seeking a Learning Resource Advisor to cultivate an online information resource environment and provide support to students via a Learning Hub both online and on campus.
This two-day-per-week (0.4 FTE) position suits an early career or student information professional. The successful applicant is required to work at our ACAP Melbourne campus on Thursdays and Fridays from 9.00 to 5.00.
Responsibilities include:
* Digital Collection Management: Curate, organise, and maintain digital collections, ensuring easy access to e-books, databases, journals, and multimedia resources, and regularly update catalogues with accurate metadata.
* Resource Acquisition & Collaboration: Collaborate with staff to assess and acquire new learning resources based on user needs and trends, while staying updated on digital library technologies to recommend improvements.
* Physical and Digital Resource Oversight: Manage the acquisition, cataloguing, and circulation processes for both digital and physical learning resources, including textbooks and multimedia materials.
* Learning Hub Support: Assist students with effective use of learning resources, provide training on research techniques, and troubleshoot technical issues related to the Learning Hub and online resources.
* Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with faculty to integrate resources into the curriculum, participate in team meetings, and ensure a cohesive, user-friendly experience across learning resources.
* Policies & Procedures Adherence: Follow and contribute to the development of policies related to resource management, ensuring compliance with copyright laws, licensing agreements, and intellectual property rights.
* Campus Event Support: Willingness to assist with a range of campus events, such as orientation and graduation.
It is essential that you can demonstrate:
* Library Science Qualification – Completed or in-progress.
* Library or Educational Experience – Including volunteer or student placements.
* Digital Resource Management – Proficiency with cataloguing, databases, and learning management systems.
* Technical Proficiency – Strong computer skills, including research tools and basic troubleshooting.
* Communication Skills – Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse user groups.
* Organisational Skills – Strong time management and attention to detail
* Manual Handling - Able to reshelve books etc
