About the job The Rare Disease Clinical Science Associate (CSA) is responsible for driving the commercial success of the Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorders Portfolios within the defined territory. This will be achieved by identifying, educating and building advocates within the healthcare community to reduce the time to diagnosis for patients suffering from Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs).
This in-field role will engage department decision makers, treaters, specialists, and allied health staff (nurses, pharmacy, and pathology) to drive disease awareness, increase index of suspicion, screening, testing, and management of patients, with particular focus on Genetic Panel Testing and Dry Blood Spot testing. The CSA will develop and execute a robust business plan, applying knowledge of all promoted products, key competitor products, major clinical trials, and clinical disease states to maximize sales.
Main responsibilities: Implement sales strategy and promotional activities to meet and exceed sales targets.Deliver effective and relevant presentations for hospital units and accounts.Develop and implement clear Strategic Account Plans for targeted customers and accounts in the territory.Maintain activity in line with agreed Business Plan including face-to-face calls (in person or via zoom), trade displays, conferences, educational events, etc.Develop new business and maintain existing accounts through regular and valuable contact with target customers in line with the sales strategy.Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales colleagues, and other key Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorder stakeholders to ensure efforts are aligned to achieve company sales and marketing objectives.Stay current with relevant medical community issues and have a full understanding of global literature and clinical trials, allowing the CSA to effectively communicate complex data.About you Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (e.g., Pharmacy, Science, Nursing, Business, Marketing, or Education). Alternatively, extensive pharmaceutical sales experience would be required.Demonstrable track record as a Specialist Representative, Hospital Sales Representative, Hospital Key Account Manager position, or similar.Industry experience in the Rare Disease & Rare Blood Disorders setting.Experience and working knowledge of the hospital environment in cardiology, nephrology, neurology, and haematology.Excellent stakeholder engagement, relationship building, and communication skills including driving challenging discussions with specialists.Additional postgraduate specialist qualifications in a medical/science field (e.g., MSc / PhD) would be an advantage.Full valid Australian Driver's Licence.Completion of Medicines Australia CEP is required.Why choose us?
