Tasmanian | The quiet pursuit of the extraordinary The Role As Head of Department, you will have overall responsibility for the functioning of the department, directly reporting to the Clinical Director of Medical and Cancer Services. You will have Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in General and Acute Medicine. Contribute to the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to public and private patients of the Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) in General Medicine. Contribute to the Department of General Medicine’s afterhours and weekend roster. Provide professional leadership to medical, nursing, and allied health staff and foster interdisciplinary teamwork. Be actively involved in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, as well as trainee and IMG supervision and mentoring Be involved in research and undertake quality improvement activities. Make It Tasmania | Move for a great lifestyle Salary Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority. Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $216,300 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $296,640 with further salary increments available. Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022 In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: Management allowance, 10% of Base Salary, pro rata Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle (subject to working full-time hours) OR allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,389 pro rata per annum, paid fortnightly (with CPI indexation on 1 July each year). Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,480 pro rata per annum. Relocation allowance. On call allowance % of Base Salary. All other allowances as per current Award. And subject to approval from the Private Patient Scheme Committee (PPS), 35% of Base salary plus on-call, pro rata) of additional payment will be paid from (PPS). If not admitted to the PPS, a 35% in lieu of PPS of base salary will be paid. Other Benefits: You will have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year other benefits if eligible. Details of Appointment Fixed term, part time day work (with on-call), working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for a period of 3 years. Additionally, the successful candidate is expected to undertake a minimum of 19 hours per fortnight in clinical work with the option of increasing up to 38 hours. Therefore, a full-time workload combining 38 hours Head of Department duties and 38 hours clinical work per fortnight is available.
