Kingston Soldier's Memorial Hospital MPS (Multi-Purpose Service) is seeking a reliable Cook to join our team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will ensure the efficient production, preparation, and distribution of food services to meet the dietary needs of our patients and staff, while maintaining the highest food quality standards. About the Role: In this role, you will be responsible for: Food Production & Distribution : Ensuring the preparation and delivery of meals meet health and safety standards, dietary requirements, and client preferences. Ordering & Stock Control : Ordering non-perishable food supplies and managing inventory to ensure availability of ingredients. Menu Planning & Quality Control : Assisting with menu selections, preparing bulk meals, and ensuring consistent food quality and presentation. Compliance & Safety : Ensuring food safety standards are adhered to, including safe food storage, handling, and hygiene practices. This position is integral to the hospital’s catering team and involves working closely with staff to ensure that food production is carried out in an efficient and timely manner. You'll also be expected to maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times while adhering to strict health and safety protocols. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel, for inventory, menu planning, and scheduling.
