About Your Role
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) Grade 1 Adult Oncology is responsible for the provision of high level patient centred, evidence-based clinical nursing care, and is expected to embrace and lead a practice development philosophy in the delivery of that care.
This is achieved under the provision of five (5) domains, those being clinical service & consultancy, clinical leadership, education, research, and clinical services planning & management.
The CNC1 develops and facilitates the implementation and evaluation of care management plans for patients with complex health needs; facilitates ongoing development of clinical practice; initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical care; develops and delivers specialist related education programs; and participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
The CNC1 will work within a rapidly changing health care environment with increased community, individual and legislative expectations of the role, and will work closely with the MLHD Manager of Cancer Services and Innovation and the MLHD District Oncology CNC strategically, and operationally with Griffith site management.
The position is open only to existing employees of the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
This position is open to applicants who are currently ineligible for a CNC1 position in an adult oncology setting, but are demonstrating that they are working towards this competency.
This position is open to staff that are eligible for, or wanting to further develop their skills and competencies in one or more of the 5 domains with the aim to become eligible for a CNC1 position in Adult Oncology in the near future.
