The opportunity and about the role: The WHS Manager plays a crucial role in improving safety performance by leading and implementing strategies to enhance workplace health and safety. This includes managing WHS systems to ensure effective risk management, compliance with legislation, and fostering a strong safety culture across the organization. The role also involves overseeing the OHS Management System (ISO 45001), ensuring its effective use across all areas of the business and meeting all annual audit requirements. Key Responsibilities include: Manage workers' compensation premiums, claims processes, and long-term cases with the Return-to-Work team. Develop strategies to reduce return-to-work timeframes and improve expense reconciliation. Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and WHS systems to mitigate risks and reduce workplace injuries. Provide regular WHS reports to management, including key metrics, risks, and legislative updates. Lead the development of safety strategies, policies, and training to foster a proactive safety culture. Ensure WHS and QMS policies are compliant, up-to-date, and effectively implemented. Use data analytics to monitor safety performance and drive continuous improvement. Support senior leaders in achieving safety and wellbeing objectives through strategic guidance and accountability. What you will bring to the role: 10+ years' experience in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing management. Proven success in implementing Safety and Wellbeing frameworks, injury management, and rehabilitation strategies. Strong project management, planning, and scheduling abilities with a focus on meeting deadlines. Advanced MS Office skills, particularly in MS Word. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Ability to interpret and respond to tender documentation efficiently. Skills and Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in WHS management or related fields. Experience in WorkCover, WHS matters, and associated training. Prior experience in a WHS/QA manager role, ideally in a multisite environment. Project management qualifications (desirable).
