Your Role
An exciting opportunity exists to join the team at Catholic Education Office in the position of Regional Indigenous Education Liaison Officer (RIELO), for an immediate commencement. This is a term-time continuing role for 32 hours per week.
*This position will be based at St Brigid's Catholic Primary School, Emerald.
The successful applicant will service the educational mission of the Catholic Diocese of Rockhampton by providing support to all aspects of Indigenous Education. In doing so, advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students together with their families, communities, teachers and schools in the Central Highlands region.

Selection Criteria
The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate:
* A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander societies and cultures, as well as issues affecting them
* An ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families
* An ability to liaise between teachers, Indigenous students and their parents/carers and should have a genuine interest in supporting students and their communities.

Mandatory Requirements
* A current valid Blue Card under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 (WWC Act) and valid Suitability Notice is a requirement of the position.
* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner, including some travel to schools within the Diocese.
