Job Description Position: Senior Flood and Water EngineerLocation: Perth, WASalary: $130 - 150K + Super Role Overview: As a Senior Flooding & Water Engineer, you will lead and manage projects focused on flood risk management and water resources within major sectors such as road, rail, mining, and urban development. Your primary responsibility will be to devise innovative engineering solutions, collaborate with stakeholders, and ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery. Key Responsibilities: Deliver technical hydrologic studies and hydraulic analyses related to surface water management and flooding, including flood modeling, mapping, and report preparation. Oversee project management for water and flooding initiatives, including mentoring junior staff, managing budgets, and ensuring deliverables, while serving as the Water and Flooding Technical Lead on major infrastructure projects. Design hydraulic systems for waterway infrastructure, including bridges, culverts, levees, diversion drains, and scour protection measures. Coordinate design efforts with broader project teams and other disciplines. Mentor junior engineers and conduct thorough reviews of technical work completed by others. About the Client: Our client is a leading consultancy in Australia, recognized for its comprehensive engineering services in land development, urban planning, transport, and commercial and residential buildings. Key Criteria: Extensive technical knowledge of local and national Water and Flooding Teams. Tertiary qualifications in Civil/Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science. 8+ years of experience in flood assessments, hydrology, and hydraulic modeling within consulting practices in Australia. Proficient in developing and reviewing complex hydrology and hydraulic models. Experience with hydrology assessments and a solid understanding of the principles outlined in Australian Rainfall and Runoff 2019, as well as regional and local guidelines. Advanced knowledge of hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, including RORB, XP-RAFTS, WBNM, URBS, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS, along with an understanding of their advantages and limitations.
