A contract opportunity exists for an Atlassian Coach / Advisor to manage and improve the visibility, sizing, and processes associated with the Information Technology Partners leadership team work program in Atlassian Jira.
Requirements : Formalise Atlassian requirements for the department. Manage implementation and maximise usage and uptake of agile aligned ways of working using Atlassian Jira, recognising pockets of mature usage and providing guidance on Jira hierarchy and interrelationships of projects. Develop FAQs, change communication, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to assist new staff in the future. Promote consistency of use of Atlassian based agile delivery approaches and ceremonies by staff, e.g., a consistent baseline of work processes, defined details where variation is necessary, as well as a focus on correct sizing of tasks. Review current usage of Jira, making recommendations to improve visualisation of work in progress while retaining flexibility across teams of different technical and non-technical subject matter expertise. Design and produce reports for the partnership to understand the progress of work packages and the capacity of the department. Provide recommendations to manage the overall use of Atlassian products within the Partnership, particularly around managing authentication both for Machinery of Government changes and for ongoing management of people joining / leaving the partnership. This may include additional Atlassian components, 3rd party tools, APIs that in-house teams may be able to use, and improved manual processes. Provision of implementation assistance as required. Skill set required : Proven expertise in planning, scheduling, and managing projects using appropriate tools, ensuring deliverables are completed within agreed cost, time, and scope, while providing regular, accurate reports to stakeholders. Strong leadership skills in directing, managing, and motivating project teams, effectively prioritizing tasks, meeting deadlines, managing resources, and maintaining confidentiality in decision-makers' absence. Well-developed change management capabilities, including overseeing change processes, defining measurable benefits, tracking outcomes against the business case, and aligning work packages with expected benefits to drive realization. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain effective project communication channels, fostering collaboration and transparency among stakeholders. Skilled in building and maintaining positive relationships with team members, stakeholders, and customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities to engage effectively across all levels. In-depth knowledge of Atlassian products, with the ability to optimize their use to maximize return on investment. Qualifications or hands-on experience in multiple Agile delivery methodologies. Proven ability to coach executive teams in adopting Agile practices across both technical and non-technical projects. Experience with formal board governance, including preparing project documentation and managing and facilitating formal project boards.
