The Role
Our busy Newcastle Region is growing and the need for strategic IT thinking is important. An integral role for our business, your role will be to maintain our Information and Technology infrastructure to minimise downtime and increase efficiency, which will allow our staff to focus on their work which is the core of our business.
Requirements
* Maintaining technology hardware and software so our people have adequate tools to achieve their goals.
* Seek innovative and technological efficiencies that are aligned with our strategies.
* Maintain organisation relevance and compliance with a deep comprehension of software requirements and license availability.
* Ensure hardware and systems are up to date, so that we are always current and secure.
* Uphold staff satisfaction and reduce downtime.
* Ensuring a reliable and fast networking infrastructure suitable for high performance engineering software.
* Working closely with the IT Teams and supporting other offices in delivering a standardised operating setup..
The Candidate
You will have access to many opportunities within Northrop and with our support we will help you to develop your career. As the successful candidate you will have:
* Experience in a similar role and environment.
* Tertiary qualifications in IT.
* Experience in a support desk IT role.
* Security management including managing remote access from multiple sites.
* Knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies.
* The ability to multitask and prioritise requests, taking responsibility for tasks and delivering appropriate solutions.
* System documentation, including production of user manuals, procedures and guides
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Initiative and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
* High work standards and attention to detail, ensuring quality and accuracy for all tasks.
* Reliability, capable of working well with people at all levels.
* Strong customer service orientation with a proactive and helpful approach.
* Experience preferred in the use and management of the following software platforms:
o Office365/Exchange Online
o Active Directory
o Windows Server 2008/2012
o Microsoft SharePoint
o VoIP technologies and advanced IP telephone switching and routing technologies
o Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit
