On the back of an excellent financial year where we have grown into new markets and grown new customer accounts, we recently were recognised on the Australian Financial Reviews Fast 100 List for the 3rd year in a row, and the growth is continuing in the new year.We require a Senior Architect to advise on a major Infrastructure refresh program, designed to maintain the technology environment and mitigate critical risks. Key objectives of the program include replacing outdated hardware, upgrading operating systems and databases, consolidating services, and standardising technologies. These efforts aim to enhance cybersecurity, simplify the environment, improve stability and resilience, and optimise costs for hosted systems and applications.This is an initial contract for 3 months, with extension options and can be located in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane.Key Responsibilities:Lead and coordinate a team of technical leads, ensuring alignment across teams and fostering collaboration.Develop vision documents to establish clear objectives and strategic direction.Design strategies and roadmaps to guide project execution and long-term success.Engage with internal stakeholders and external service providers to drive effective delivery.Define enterprise architecture principles, standards, and governance frameworks to ensure consistency across IT programs.Provide expert guidance on cloud adoption, network transformation, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.Assess and mitigate technical risks while ensuring scalability, security, and compliance with government standards.Support the development of business cases and investment proposals for large-scale technology programs.Skills and Experience Required:Proven experience as an Enterprise or Senior Solution Architect, ideally within Federal Government, driving strategy, governance, and technology alignment.Strong leadership skills to bring technical teams together and ensure cohesive project execution.Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders in both government and private sectors.Experience developing roadmaps, frameworks, and vision documents for complex IT projects.Ideally, experience working on major infrastructure modernisation programs across networks, cloud, storage, and databases.Deep understanding of federal government security frameworks, compliance, and risk management.Strong communication skills to translate complex technical concepts into business-focused solutions.Hands-on experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, or equivalent).As this is in Federal Government, Australian citizenship and a current active Baseline clearance is required to be considered for the role.If you meet the above requirements and are looking for an opportunity to contribute to a major Government Departments uplift program, we invite you to apply.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeContractJob functionInformation TechnologyIndustriesIT Services and IT Consulting
