About the RoleWe are seeking to fill one Occupational Health Nurse role within BHP's new and exciting Copper South Australia Asset at Carrapateena.
This role at Carrapateena will allow you to balance your work and family commitments, with the flexibility to change these as your life evolves.
FIFO is offered from Port Augusta and Adelaide.
You will be willing to work an 8 days on, 6 days off FIFO roster.
You will be able to work independently executing health activities.
Health activities will include but are not limited to injury and illness management, fitness for work processes, health promotion and education, emergency support and clinical governance activities.
This role is a highly rewarding career option for emergency response enthusiasts who want to play a vital role in improving the health outcomes of the mining community.
You will see diverse presentations from minor injuries to critically unwell workers; therefore, you must be flexible and adaptable to working in a remote setting as the most senior medical resource on-site.

About YouTo be successful in the Occupational Health Nurse role you will have a genuine desire to help people achieve positive health and wellbeing outcomes; combined with a clear understanding of the role that the resources sector plays in health and wellbeing management of our most important asset – our people.
You will have a working knowledge of relevant Health related legislation and surveillance, effective injury and illness treatment and management, and developing and delivering preventative and improvement health initiatives.
Your previous experience will mean that you have the ability to develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with our operations stakeholders and medical and allied health providers, with excellent communication skills.
You will be committed to coaching, influencing, and encouraging a mentally healthy workforce.
Proven experience as a tertiary qualified nursing professional (Registered Nurse) and AHPRA registration is essential.
For this role your expertise will be essential in handling medical emergencies, assessing and stabilising patients whilst providing comprehensive pre-hospital patient care.
When required you will be responsible for coordinating evacuations via external stakeholders per site procedures when necessary.
A strong professional background in emergency nursing/critical care, and the ability to work in challenging and isolated environments is highly recommended.
