The Hawkesbury Institute for the Environment has an opportunity for a Senior Technical Officer toestablish and execute a series of glasshouse and field experiments to collect, curate and analyse data pertaining the alleviation of biotic and abiotic environmental stresses in cereal crops using silicon intervention strategies.
You will be part of a team working on a 4-year ARC Linkage project involving WSU investigators (faculty and postgraduate students), the world’s largest silicon fertiliser producer and four broadacre farmer groups operating in NSW, VIC, SA and WA. In addition to undertaking experiments at WSU, you will liaise with the farmer groups who will be conducting concurrent field trials to ensure consistency and timely collection of data and sampling, including remote and in-person visits to the regions.
You will also curate and analyse field trial data provided by project partners.
This is a full-time, fixed-term position for 4 years based at the Hawkesbury Campus (Richmond).
