The Library Services Team is seeking expressions of interest from librarians with significant experience in the provision of legal research, legal resource training, procurement of legal resources and collection management.
The role will be responsible for providing complex and specialist library and information services at a national level.

About the role
The Library Services Team provides a highly valued service for legal research and resources to the lawyers and officers of the Attorney-General's Department including AGS.
This role is based in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane and will involve delivering high level, customer focused library services.
A key part of this role will be to assist in the delivery of reference work, catalogue print and electronic resources using the Moy's classification scheme, and undertake a broad range of legal library activities as part of a team, including legal resource training.
In this role you will:
draw upon your extensive law librarian knowledge and skills to deliver excellent customer focused library services to clients and support the department's workcontribute to a national legal research training program including presentation of selected online sessions to the departmentsupport the national acquisitions manager with procurement and maintenance of subscriptionsmanage reference enquiries in response to client requests in a timely mannerprovide assistance in managing the library's subscription services, databases and systems, including engaging with vendorsundertake a broad range of library activities as part of a small, dedicated and professional team.For further information about the requirements of the role, please refer to the role description available below.
Please note this role may be offered as ongoing or non-ongoing depending on operational requirements and the successful applicant may be required to travel to Canberra if they are located in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne (up to 3 times per year).
About you
Candidates for this position should have:
relevant tertiary qualifications in library studies / information managementtraining experience in a library environmentknowledge of library acquisitions and government procurementdemonstrated ability to undertake high level reference and research work in a legal environmentexcellent knowledge of legal materials, maintaining collections and their datademonstrated ability in the use of:legal resourcesthe delivery of in-person and remote traininglibrary technology; anddata managementa willingness to take responsibility for tasks and a collaborative approach to cross-team developmentwell-developed written and oral communication skills.To apply
