If you're ready to combine your expertise in media management with your ability to influence and inspire, we want to hear from you!In this role, you’ll play a key part in keeping our community informed and engaged. Working closely with stakeholders such as the CEO, Mayor, Councillors, and the Executive Team, you’ll develop and implement media strategies that highlight the council’s achievements and protect its strong reputation.In this role, you’ll:Develop and deliver innovative media strategies that build trust, confidence, and community engagement.Manage daily media enquiries, coordinate opportunities, and create impactful stories to enhance the council’s reputation.Provide strategic advice and handle sensitive media issues, including crisis communications with reputational risks.Write speeches, press releases, and briefings for the CEO, Mayor, and Councillors, ensuring consistency in messaging.Deliver media training and produce regular updates, such as newsletters, to support internal and external communication.This temporary 12-month position offers a salary between $105,785 and $117,494, plus 11.5% superannuation.This is a hybrid role, which means you can work both from home and within our bright, modern, and sustainable 311 Glenferrie Road office on the corner of High Street and Glenferrie Road in Malvern, where boutique stores, cafes, and health clubs are in abundance. From the office, you can easily walk to Malvern Gardens, High Street Armadale, or Glenferrie Road.
