About the Opportunity
Reporting to the General Manager of Capability Development, the Head of Capability Pool is accountable for ensuring the personnel within the Capability Pool develop the right skills in time to be deployed to deliver on ASC program work scopes. To achieve this, the Head of Capability Pool will ensure that Capability Pool personnel are effectively managed and deployed on meaningful work that maintains their certifications, skills and competencies.
Responsibilities
* Support existing ASC programs and engage in new activities as ASC transitions into a nuclear organization.
* Collaborate with external organizations to establish targeted secondments supporting skill development and supply chain uplift activities.
* Direct targeted training and development activities for Capability Pool personnel to prepare them for specific assignments or future roles.
* Work closely with Heads of Capabilities to ensure personnel have meaningful work, training, and development opportunities.
* Engage with Program Personnel, Continuous Improvement, and Supply Chain functions to source meaningful work matching skill and experience requirements for Capability Pool personnel.
* Provide leadership to the Capability Pool Team, setting direction and performance targets, and overseeing meaningful work sourcing, workforce allocation, and training and development planning.
About you
* Tertiary qualifications relevant to engineering, project management, and/or operations together with post-graduate business management qualifications.
* Minimum 10 years’ experience in a leadership role in operations, engineering, project management or capability leadership role (or similar), preferably in a similar industry.
* Strong understanding of shipbuilding / defence sector, including knowledge of current trends, practices, technologies, and regulatory environment.
* Demonstrated ability in prioritisation of limited resources and make effective trade-off decisions.
* Demonstrated ability to identify and implement interventions and high-quality solutions to complex problems.
* Demonstrated ability to lead high performing teams in complex environments.
This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to an NV1 level. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
