About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic Gardener & Region Coordinator with a background in landscaping, gardening, or caretaking to join our team and support our Caretaking Team.This role will be instrumental within the Southside Team as the on-the-ground Region Coordinator. You will lead the coordination of the Southside team while actively participating in daily gardening, groundskeeping, and caretaking duties. With a focus on seamless operations, you will handle complex gardens and grounds maintenance, seasonal and ad hoc tasks, and general upkeep, all while delivering exceptional service to our residents and supporting the Caretaking Team Leader, who reports to the Head of Caretaking.To excel in this role, strong leadership skills, a solid background in gardening or grounds maintenance, and effective time management are essential. An understanding of property maintenance and caretaking practices would be advantageous. We are looking for someone with excellent organisational abilities, attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and proficiency in technology. Experience with job tracking or management systems would be beneficial. Core ResponsibilitiesGroundskeeping and Landscaping: Maintain and enhance common areas, including lawns, gardens, median strips, and shared spaces to the highest standard.Perform routine gardening tasks such as watering, trimming, pruning, weeding, raking, planting, mulching, and fertilizing throughout the community and external areas as needed.Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of multiple townhouse complexes, conducting regular inspections to assess maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards.Coordinate and prioritize repairs, landscaping, cleaning, and other maintenance activities.Primarily work within Brisbane's Southside, including Cannon Hill, Murarrie, Carindale, Rochedale, and Ormiston.Team Coordination: Lead a team of caretakers, assigning tasks and monitoring their performance on daily gardening responsibilities.Communicate resource requirements to management, ensuring maintenance needs are met and team performance is optimized.Maintain clear, effective communication with team members regarding tasks, expectations, and changes.Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations and procedures. Qualifications and SkillsHorticulture or gardening certification, or equivalent experience, is essential.Strong leadership and team coordination skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in management software and tools, showcasing strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.Strong organisational and time management skills are essential.
