About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker, you will be passionate about making a difference in the lives of people with a disability in your local Canberra community. We have casual roles available with the potential to move into a Permanent Part-Time position, providing active, person centred support to people with disability within our Lifestyle support settings.
You will actively participate in and support clients in their own homes and with accessing the community within our Canberra South suburbs, the ideal candidate will reside amongst these suburbs and have a willingness to travel.
Key Responsibilities
* Personal care and domestic assistance (light cleaning)
* Community access and transportation
* Maintain and monitor person centred plans
* Documenting and progress note keeping
* Develop rapport and strong relationships with the people we support and their families
Skills & Experience
* Candidates who have lived experience or a passion to work in Disability
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Ability to build relationships and strong rapport with clients and their families
* Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (must be obtained prior to employment)
* Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence and own registered and reliable vehicle
Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check, Working with Vulnerable People Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
