The Team The Equity Capital Markets (ECM) Team advise issuers, investment banks, shareholders and investors on local and cross-border stock exchange listings, equity and hybrid securities offerings, rights issues and entitlement offers, capital management transactions, stock exchange compliance and hedging transactions. Baker McKenzie also represent clients in investigations involving securities laws, tax regulations, improper payments and insider trading and have experience advising on the securities law aspects of employee benefit plans and working on proxy solicitations and accounting restatements. You will work with key partners in the M&A and ECM space, including Craig Andrade and Antony Rumboll. The team has a unique position in the Australian market with unrivalled expertise in capital markets, gained from many years as in-house counsel at bulge bracket investment banks. Antony joined our Corporate team in 2017 from UBS where he was a senior investment banking lawyer. He has been involved in many of Australia's most significant corporate transactions including the Qube takeover of Asciano, the Tatts/Tabcorp merger, the QR National IPO, Telstra 3 Share Offer, 2010 Shell/Woodside block trade and recent IPOs such as Home Consortium and Prospa. Skills and Experience Required Highly motivated and driven Corporate Lawyer with at least 3-4 year's PQE gained at a top-tier firm, or leading financial services institution. Experience in capital raisings, initial public offerings, underwriting as well as corporate advisory. A solid understanding of public M&A and corporate transactions, such as takeovers, mergers, reconstructions, acquisitions and divestments. Exceptional technical, drafting and commercial skills with a strong client service ethic. Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team and assist with the support and training of junior team members.
