The opportunity
We are currently seeking a People and Culture Advisor to join our vibrant P&C team based between our Manufacturing site at Lonsdale and our head office at Cumberland Park. This role will also require frequent travel to other Farquhar Group locations across the Adelaide metro area, and less frequently to our Manufacturing site in Brisbane.
The People and Culture Advisor will play a pivotal role in providing expert P&C consultancy services to stakeholders across the Farquhar Group, offering valuable guidance and support in various P&C functions. The P&C Advisor will deliver comprehensive P&C solutions to stakeholders under the guidance of the Group P&C Leader, ensuring effective and strategic P&C service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Client Engagement and Consultancy
1. Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholders, understanding their unique P&C needs and challenges.
2. Provide strategic P&C advice, recommendations, and solutions aligned with stakeholders' business goals.
3. Collaborate with stakeholders to address complex P&C issues, fostering positive and productive working relationships.
Recruitment and Talent Management
1. Assist the P&C Coordinator in times of high recruitment or for specialised roles.
2. Offer insights into talent acquisition strategies, emphasising the importance of cultural fit and skill alignment, to assist the P&C Coordinator and the Hiring Manager.
3. Support stakeholders in developing effective onboarding and talent retention strategies.
Performance Enhancement
1. Partner with stakeholders to implement performance management programs, including goal setting, performance appraisals, and feedback mechanisms.
2. Provide guidance on creating professional development plans that align with employees' career aspirations and organisational objectives.
P&C Policies and Compliance
1. Advise stakeholders on P&C policy development, ensuring compliance with relevant ER laws and regulations.
2. Assist in creating employee handbooks, policies, and procedures tailored to stakeholders' specific needs.
Employee Engagement and Well-being
1. Collaborate with stakeholders to design employee engagement initiatives, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
2. Provide recommendations for enhancing employee well-being and mental health programs.
Training and Development
1. Identify stakeholders' training needs and design customised training programs to address skill gaps and improve team performance.
2. Partner with subject matter experts to deliver workshops and training sessions.
3. Deliver regular P&C Inductions to new team members of the group.
Payroll
1. Responsible for running 1-2 small payruns per week.
2. Act as the back up payroll officer for running pays and weekly reporting in times of the Group Payroll Officer's absence.
Return to Work and Injury Management
1. Advise business leaders on best practice injury management and Return to Work strategies, in consultation with the Group Safety Leader.
What we would like:
1. Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management or equivalent.
2. Generalist P&C experience in a similar industry.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office / Google Suite.
4. Significant experience delivering training and presentations.
5. Experience in rolling out a Performance Review framework.
6. Experience in running or overseeing payroll for a small or medium size business.
7. Previous experience with Employment Hero HR and Payroll will be highly advantageous.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
9. Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
10. Sound knowledge of Employment Legislation in Australia.
11. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
