Join the team that transforms the sports landscape and creates a legacy of excitement, engagement, and inspiration.About the role:As an Event Planner, you’ll work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders, including venue hirers, contractors, suppliers, and more, to ensure all event requirements are met. You will manage every aspect of the event planning process, from initial negotiation and planning to budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Collaboration and relationship-building are key to delivering outstanding client experiences.As the Event Planner your primary responsibilities will include:Oversee event planning, negotiations, hire agreements, risk assessments, budgets, and stakeholder management.Develop and maintain booking processes, checklists, and reporting tools for efficient event delivery.Support the Events and Bookings team in executing seamless events and bookings.Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement detailed event plans.Resolve stakeholder issues and conflicts during event operations.Contribute to major event bids and work with promoters on hire agreements and plans.Assist in creating proposals for new event opportunities to boost venue usage.Communicate effectively with external providers, sports associations, schools, and event promoters.Ensure event financials comply with SSCT and government guidelines.Manage event budgets, monitor performance, and report on financial outcomes.Promote SSCT hirable spaces to increase bookings and venue utilisation.Required skills and Qualifications:Proven experience in event or venue management, with the ability to handle all aspects of event planning and execution.Experience in managing booking processes for venues, ensuring high standards are maintained.Demonstrated success in applying event management and procurement processes in large or multi-purpose venues.Strong skills in building and maintaining relationships with clients and stakeholders to ensure outstanding customer service and repeat bookings.Knowledge and experience in budget management, including preparing reports and financial analysis (desirable).Victorian Working With Children Check (Employee).Why is this a great place to work?You will love working at the State Sports Centres.
