Central Goldfields Shire Council is seeking a Management Accountant to join our Finance team in a permanent, full-time capacity.Why Join Us?As a key member of our Finance team, you'll work closely with the Finance Manager and other departments to drive financial excellence. From budgeting and cost analysis to asset accounting and business partnering, this role offers variety, challenge, and the opportunity to contribute to the financial sustainability of our community.What You'll Do:Asset Management - Collaborate with the Infrastructure team to manage costs, additions, disposals, and transfers.Budgeting & Forecasting - Support the development of Council's Annual Budget and financial forecasts.Reporting & Analysis - Prepare monthly financial reports, track trends, and support informed decision-making.End of Year & Payroll - Assist in EOFY processes, payroll analysis, reporting, and reconciliations.Business Partnering - Work alongside Department Managers to enhance financial literacy and accountability.Grants Management - Maintain a grant register and support acquittals for both operational and capital grants.Process Improvement - Develop reporting tools, dashboards, and assist with policy updates.About You:Tertiary qualification in Accounting or Commerce with a minimum of three years' experience.CPA/CA qualification or working towards completion.Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, reporting, and asset accounting.Skilled in financial systems, data analysis, and process improvements.Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and provide financial insights.Experience with payroll processing and reconciliations is an advantage.A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.Central Goldfields Shire Council is a child safe organisation and an inclusive employer.
