Job Description
About the Role:
Reporting to the Applications Manager, the SQL Database Administrator will be required to conduct daily health checks of all SQL Server instances to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues. Additionally, you will oversee database maintenance tasks such as index rebuilds, statistics updates, and regular patching to ensure optimal system reliability and performance, ultimately delivering the highest value to the business.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support the vision of creating a healthier Australia through the support of ICT SQL Databases within Lite N 'Easy.
2. Manage Microsoft SQL Server 2005-2019 Databases.
3. Oversee SQL Server Clustering, replication, backup and recovery.
4. Performance monitoring and tuning with SQL Server Databases.
5. Security management: Oversee overall database security, such as user privileges, access controls, and audit logging.
6. Manage database maintenance tasks, including index rebuilds, statistics updates and patching.
7. Implement backup and recovery strategies with SQL Server Databases.
8. Develop and enforce database standards and best practices.
9. Create and maintain documentation related to database architecture, procedures, and configurations.
About You:
1. A minimum of 5+ years experience in a similar position and experience with report creation, modelling and trend forecasting.
2. Experience in SharePoint and M-Files Administration would be highly regarded.
3. Solid communication skills, both written and verbal.
4. The ability to work in a team and independently.
5. Provide support, mentoring and direction to the ICT team and support staff.
6. Maintain positive and professional relationships within the department and across the business.
7. Strong grasp of security principles and how they apply to Applications.
8. The ability to work well under pressure and maintain excellent administration standards.
