Seeking a Consultant Paediatrician to join our team at Flinders Medical Centre!As a Senior Consultant/Consultant – Paediatric Medicine, you will provide exemplary clinical services to patients in the Paediatric and Child Health Department and Child Protection Service, delivering individual excellence while providing clinical leadership to foster a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
This vital role actively involves teaching medical students, trainee medical officers, nursing staff, and allied health professionals, while also participating in clinical audit, quality and safety initiatives, risk management activities, research, and continuous medical education.
Staff are required for work in outpatient and inpatient general paediatrics.
Clinicians must be skilled, or be prepared to upskill as required, to work in areas which may include Child Protection (undertaking forensic medical assessments) or developmental assessments, as directed by the Head of Unit.About the role: As the Consultant Paediatrician, some of your duties may involve: Providing appropriate specialist level care to patients.Providing clinical supervision to Senior Medical Practitioners, Trainee.Participating in and contributing to the academic life of the Department at the direction of the Head of the Department.
About you: Bachelor of Medicine; Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent.
Appropriate Specialist Qualifications and registrable with the Medical Board of Australia as a Medical Practitioner with Specialist registration; or another qualification as defined in the SA Medical Officers Award.Experience with the supervision and teaching of undergraduate and postgraduate medical staff.Extensive clinical experience relevant to work in Paediatric Medicine.
Demonstrated high standard of clinical practice in Paediatric Medicine.Demonstrated excellence in delivering clinical care to a wide range of acute and ambulatory paediatric clinical presentations.Demonstrated professional integrity, leadership and motivational skills.Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Demonstrated participation in approved continuing medical education since attaining specialist qualification.
