We are seeking Employee Relations Specialists to support our clients in fostering a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. This role offers flexibility, allowing you to work remotely except when the client requires on-site presence. As an Employee Relations Specialist, you will be a trusted advisor to HR teams, managers, and employees, handling workplace concerns, conflict resolution, policy interpretation, etc. Your expertise in employee relations and HR best practices will help mitigate risk, improve workplace culture, and ensure fair and consistent application of employment policies.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide expert guidance on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, performance management, and workplace investigations.
* Conduct thorough investigations into employee complaints, grievances, and policy violations, ensuring impartiality and adherence to best practices and confidentiality.
* Advise management and HR teams on compliance with employment laws, company policies, and industry regulations.
* Mediate disputes between employees and leadership to promote a positive and productive work environment.
* Stay current on federal, state, and local employment laws and provide updates to clients as necessary.
* Collaborate with HR teams to ensure fair treatment and consistency in applying policies across the workforce and conduct and analyze employee surveys and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Associate or bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent three years working experience in HR or employee relations).
* 1–3 years of minimum experience in employee relations, human resources, labor relations, communications, or related field.
* Strong knowledge of employment laws (e.g., FMLA, FLSA, EEOC, NLRA, FERPA, etc.).
* Experience conducting workplace investigations and handling employee grievances.
* Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise guidance.
* Proficiency in HRIS, case management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Ability to work independently in a virtual environment and travel as needed for client engagements.
* Must complete TCG’s Orientation Program and be trained in TCG’s Employee Relations Evidence-Based Approach and Client Management Solution.
Preferred Qualifications
* HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
* Experience in a consulting or contract role providing employee relations support.
* Familiarity with multi-state employment laws and compliance requirements.
