The Opportunity With demand for Dignity’s services greater than ever, there is an exciting opportunity to join our Senior Leadership Team in the role of General Manager – National Operations. Reporting to the CEO, this new position will play an integral role in driving our organisational growth and provide strategic leadership to our key operational business units of Housing (including temporary accommodation, long-term housing accommodation programs), Business Services and Distribution. Key duties Strategically lead the development and implementation of the Dignity business plan for the Dignity Housing models, Distribution and Business Services Lead and support the Housing, Business Services and Distribution management team to achieve the operational business plan Develop high performance teams through proactive coaching and development, and engagement initiatives aligned to Dignity core values. In conjunction with the CFO, contribute to the financial planning, budget management and analysis of national operations to meet strategic financial objectives Work in partnership with the senior leadership team, including CFO and CEO to support contract negotiations and tender submissions Engage and consult with internal and external stakeholders to identify emerging issues and initiate and enable the development of programs to advance our services Develop new and existing relationships with Government and Non-government agencies and other stakeholders to increase collaborative opportunities within NSW and other states/territories Plan and implement development opportunities to expand our Housing models ensuring distribution and business services are aligned and structured to support new initiatives Research and scope potential new districts and expansion opportunities within NSW and other states/territories to implement Dignity Housing models Develop and maintain relationships with developers/builders and real estate agents to support growth opportunities Work collaboratively with the National Partnerships Manager to ensure synergies across operations and food relief and volunteer business areas Provide proactive and evidence-based expert advice and reports to management to drive business outcomes Assess and identify process improvements and performance enhancements, and partner with People and Culture to implement learning and development initiatives Demonstrate a genuine commitment to safety leadership by actively consulting, promoting and contributing to initiatives, monitoring safety performance, and making decisions and acting on health, safety and wellbeing matters What you’ll need As a strategic leader, you will have: Previous people leadership experience in government and or community/social services sector. Sound knowledge of the specific service industry requirements to support those experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Proven ability to build constructive relationships, work in partnership with community, government, and other services providers. Established relationships within this field would be advantageous. Tertiary education or demonstrable senior experience in related field/sector. Highly developed written and oral communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills, and the ability to advocate on behalf of others. Highly developed organisational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement initiatives a complex and changing operating environment.
